The Department of Education has received the approval of two national accrediting organizations. First, the University of Saint Francis is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP).
Second, since 1972, the USF Department of Education has been nationally accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), which is now known as the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
Additionally, the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences’ School Counseling program is included in the NCATE accreditation and is now aligned with the standards set forth by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC).
